Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria to apply for the WB JECA 2026 given below, go through the listed points to check if you are eligible to participate in the entrance exam.

  • You are an Indian citizen and live in West Bengal.
  • You must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in any subject from a UGC-recognized university.

Notes:

  • Even if you are not a resident of West Bengal, you can still apply for this entrance examination; your admission will be under the AIQ.
  • There is no age limit to apply for this entrance exam; anyone of any age group can apply for it.
  • Those belonging to the EWS or OBC category must have secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination. For SC, ST, and PWD candidates, the minimum requirement is only 45%.
  • To participate in the entrance examination, it is necessary that you have completed your Intermediate education in the science stream and Mathematics was one of your subjects.
  • If you are in the final year/semester of your bachelor’s degree and your course will be completed before the counseling process begins, then you can apply for this.

Application Fee 

To submit the application form for the Joint Entrance Examination for Master of Computer Applications (JECA) 2026, it is mandatory that you pay the application fee, which is only₹500. However, if you belong to a reserved category, you only need to pay ₹400.

The application fee for candidates from outside West Bengal is ₹500, regardless of their category. The application fee can be paid through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. The deadline for the payment will be the same as the application form submission deadline.

Exam Pattern 

The WBJEE Board will conduct the WB JECA 2026 in offline mode, and this entrance examination will have a duration of 2 hours. A total of 100 MCQs will be asked from two different sections, whose details are tabulated below.

Each question in this entrance examination carries one mark. Negative marking is applicable, meaning that 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The medium of the WB JECA 2026 will be English only.
