The Regional Institute of Education Common Entrance Examination is a national-level admission test conducted once a year by the National Council of Educational Research and Training to provide admission to various education programmes at the Regional Institutes of Education.

Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria to apply for the RIE CEE 2026 are for different offered education programmes are as follows:

  1. BA BEd: Intermediate with humanities or arts from a government-recognized school.
  2. BSc BEd: Intermediate with PCM or PCB from a government-recognized school.
  3. BEd: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in subject or stream from a government-recognized university or institution.
  4. MEd: BEd, BA BEd, BSc BEd, or BElEd from a NCTE-recognized institution; DElEd with Bachelor’s degree in any subject or stream from government-recognized university or college.
  5. MSc Ed: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a UGC-recognised university or AICTE-recognised institution.
  6. BEd MEd (Integrated): Bachelor’s degree in subject or stream from a government-recognized university or institution.
  7. MA (Education Technology): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or subject from a government-recognized university or institution.

There is no minimum age limit; candidates who are in the final year/semester of the required degree (or going to participate in the qualifying examination in the year 2026) are also eligible.

The NCERT is offering admission for seven different education programmes at RIEs through the RIE CEE 2026 for the academic year 2026-27, whose details are as follows:

  • Integrated B.Ed–M.Ed (3 Years): RIE Bhopal
  • B.Sc B.Ed (4 Years): RIE Ajmer, RIE Bhopal, RIE Bhubaneswar, RIE Mysuru
  • BA B.Ed (4 Years): RIE Ajmer, RIE Bhopal, RIE Bhubaneswar, RIE Mysuru
  • B.Ed (2 Years): RIE Ajmer, RIE Bhubaneswar, RIE Mysuru, RIE Shillong
  • M.Ed (2 Years): RIE Ajmer, RIE Bhopal, RIE Bhubaneswar, RIE Mysuru
  • M.Sc Ed (6 Years): RIE Mysuru
  • MA (Education Technology) (2 Years): RIE Nellore

Application Fee 

The application fee details for the RIE CEE 2026 are made public. Individuals who belong to UR and OBC need to pay 1,400 rupees; for the payable amount for the SC, ST, PwBD and EWS is 800 rupees. 

The RIE CEE 2026 application fee is non-refundable; to pay it, you have the option of debit card, credit card, NET banking and UPI. You can use any of them to deposit the required amount.

Exam Pattern 

The NCERT will conduct the RIE CEE 2026 in online mode with a time duration of 2 hours. There will be a total number 80 objective-type questions, whose details are available inside the table.

The medium of this entrance examination is English, and each question carries a weightage of 2 marks. There is also a provision of negative marking, 0.5 mark will be deducted for incorrect response. 

How to Apply?

In order to apply for the RIE CEE 2026, follow the step-by-step instructions.

  • Go to the official website of RIE CEE 2026.
  • Click on the Registration.option.
  • Enter your name, email address, and mobile number, then enter your password and click the submit button.
  • Enter the OTP received on your mobile number and email ID and click on the “Complete Registration” option.
  • Return to the portal and click on the Login button.
  • Enter your email ID and password and click the login button.
  • Fill in your personal details, educational qualifications, and other required details.
  • Upload the necessary documents in the required format and size, along with your photograph and signature.
  • Pay the application fees through any of the provided payment methods.
  • After verifying all the details provided, click on the submit button.
