The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) is a national-level entrance examination conducted only once a year by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences for candidates who wish to get admission to MD and MS courses in various private and government medical colleges across the country.
If you are interested in getting admission to a medical college in the country for the academic year 2026-27 and pursue an MD/MS degree, you will need to participate in this entrance examination. Application Form
The NBEMS is likely to release the application form for NEET PG 2026 in March 2026, after which all eligible candidates will have four weeks to apply. Only those who fulfill the eligibility criteria will have their application forms accepted.
Exam Date
The NEET PG 2025 exam date has not yet been officially announced. However, it is likely that it will be held in August 2026. The NBEMS will confirm this soon by releasing its calendar, at which we will know the actual exam date.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria to apply for the NEET PG 2025 are listed below, go through the following points to find if you are eligible to participate in this entrance examination.
- You must have pursued your MBBS from a medical college recognized by any National Medical Council in the country.
- You must have completed your 12-month internship on or before July 31, 2026.
- You must have permanent or provisional registration with the State Medical Council or the National Medical Council.
Candidates who have obtained an MBBS equivalent degree from outside India can also participate in NEET PG 2026, but in addition to fulfilling the other requirements, they also have passed the FMGE.
For this entrance examination, not only Indian nationals but also foreign nationals, including OICs and PIOs, can apply if they fulfill the eligibility requirements.
Application Fee
The payment of the application fee is mandatory to apply for the NEET PG 2026. You can check the required amount from the points given below.
- If you belong to the UR, EWS, or OBC category, the application fee you need to submit is ₹3,500.
- For candidates belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD categories, the application fee is ₹2,500.
The payment needs to be made during the application submission process, and you can use a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI to make the payment.
Exam Pattern
The NBEMS will conduct the NEET PG 2026 in CBT mode. It will consist of a total of 200 MCQs, each with four options, only one of which will be correct. The questions will be asked from various subjects, the details of which we have shared in the table given below.

Each question asked in this entrance examination will carry four marks, and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The total time allotted to answer all the questions will be 3 hours and 30 minutes, and the medium of the examination will be English only.

- Click on the Examination option and then select NEET PG.
- Click on the application link section to reach the next page.
- Tap on the “New Registration” button to access the registration page.
- Complete the registration process by providing your name, mobile number, email address, and other details.
- Log in using your User ID and Password to access the application dashboard.
- Provide all the required details, including personal information, educational qualifications, and other relevant information.
- Upload the necessary documents, including your photograph and signature.
- Pay the required application fee through the provided payment method.
- After reviewing all the details, click on the submit button to complete the application process.
