The Polytechnic Entrance Competitive Examination is an state-level admission test conducted once a year by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board to provide admission to diploma courses.
As in previous years, the JCECEB will be conducting this entrance examination in 2026. Here, we have shared the important dates, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, application process, and other details for this entrance examination.
JCECEB PECE 2026
If you want to get admission to a diploma in engineering and non-engineering programme at any private or government polytechnic for the academic year 2026-27, you will need to participate in this entrance examination, for which the application form will be made available very soon.
The JCECEB PECE 2026 application form will be made available on the official website, https://jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in/, after which all candidates will have a time of four weeks to apply online. Your application form will only be accepted if you provide all the details correctly.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria details for JCECEB PECE 2026 are given below. You can read them to understand whether you are eligible to apply for this entrance examination or not.
- You must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Jharkhand, and
- You must have passed the Class 10 examination from a school affiliated with CBSE or JAC.
There is no age limit; if you are going to take the Class 10 exam for the academic year 2025-26, you are eligible.
Application Fee
To apply for the Polytechnic Entrance Competitive Examination 2026, it is mandatory to pay the application fee. Refer to the table below to check what you need to deposit in order to apply for this entrance examination.

Candidates belonging to a person with a benchmark disability (PwBD) category do not need to pay any application fee, whether they are male or female.
Exam Pattern
The JCECEB PECE 2026 will be conducted in offline mode, with a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. It will consist of a total of 100 multiple-choice questions from three different subjects, the details of which are given in the table below.

In the JCECEB PECE 2026, each question will carry one mark, and there is no provision for negative marking; it is clearly stated that no marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. It will be conducted in both English and Hindi.
