The Uttar Pradesh Common Nursing Entrance Test is conducted by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Uttar Pradesh to provide admission for UG and PG nursing programmes at various institutions of the state.

Eligibility Criteria 

In order to apply for the UP CNET 2026, it is mandatory that you meet the eligibility criteria. Go through the listed points to check it if you can apply for any of the offered programmes.

  • B.Sc. Nursing: You must have passed the Class 12 (Intermediate) Exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. 
  • Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing: You have completed Intermediate, pursued GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery), and registered as Nurse & Midwife (RNRM) with the State Nursing Council, UP.
  • M.Sc. Nursing: You must have achieved B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an INC-recognized institution. Additionally, you must be registered with the State Nursing Council, UP, and have a minimum of 1 year of clinical or work experience.

Notes:

  • For the BSc Nursing, it is mandatory that you are at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2026. No upper age limit is applicable for any course.
  • The minimum requirement in Intermediate for the BSc Nursing is 45% score as aggregate; for the reserved category, it is only 40%.
  • For the MSc Nursing, it is mandatory that the applicant have secured at least 55% (50% score for reserved) as aggregate.

Application Fee

In order to apply for the UP CNET 2026, the payment of the application fee is mandatory. Refer to the table below to check what you have to deposit.

The fee isn’t refundable, you can deposit it using the debit card, credit card, NET banking or UPI. Without the fee, your application won’t be accepted.

Exam Pattern 

The exam pattern for the UP CNET 2026 is made public. The ABVMU, Uttar Pradesh will conduct this entrance exam in online mode, a total number 120 MCQs will be asked from the different subjects, the details are as follows:

Each question carries a weightage of 1 mark, and no mark is deducted for incorrect response. To touch all MCQs, each individual will get a time duration of 2 hours, and the medium of the exam will be English and Hindi.
